Delete your Gita Sadhana account

Option 1: delete it in the Gita Sadhana app

1. Open the Gita Sadhana app and sign in.
2. Go to Profile and tap Delete Account. (You can also open Settings and scroll to Privacy → Delete Account.)
3. Read the notice and tap Delete.
4. Tap Delete My Account to confirm.

Your sign-in account is deleted straight away, you are signed out, and the data stored on your phone is cleared. We then erase the rest of your data on our servers, listed below, within 30 days.

To be sure nothing is missed, you can also send the request in Option 2.

Option 2: ask us to delete it, without the app

Use this if you no longer have the app, cannot sign in, or signed up with a mobile number. Fill in the form, or email hi@dharmikvibes.com yourself with the subject "Delete my Gita Sadhana account" from the email on your account.

To protect your account, we may write back to the email or mobile number on the account to confirm the request came from you before we delete anything.

What we delete

• Your account: email address, mobile number, name and sign-in details.
• Your profile and settings, including reminders and email preferences.
• Your practice data: reading progress, bookmarks, journal and gratitude entries, meditation sessions, habits and mantra counts.
• Questions you asked in the Ask feature, where they are stored against your account.
• Our support emails with you, other than the short record described below.

What we keep, and for how long

• Payment and invoice records, only if you have ever paid DharmikVibes (the Gita Sadhana app itself is free): kept for 8 years, because Indian company and tax law (Companies Act, 2013 and GST law) requires us to keep accounting records. They are used for nothing else.
• A short record of your request (the email or number you gave, the date of the request and the date we finished): kept for up to 3 years, so we can show we acted on it and answer any complaint.
• Backups: our database keeps automatic backups for up to 35 days. Deleted data drops out of them within that time, and we never restore it into the app.
• Service logs: most expire on their own within 7 days.
• Anonymous totals, such as how many people read a chapter, which cannot identify you.
• Anything a court or other legal order requires us to keep, for as long as it requires.

How long it takes

We reply within 7 days to confirm we have your request, and finish deleting within 30 days. We tell you when it is done, by email or on the mobile number you gave. Deleting your account cannot be undone: if you come back, you start a new account.
